FAQ’s
1. Is my team a good fit?
If you’re unsure about numbers, age mix, competitive level, or anything else, just text us — we’ll talk it through.
2. Do you guarantee evenly matched games?
No.
Here’s why:
Youth football teams don't play teams outside their league during the regular season, so there's no reliable way to objectively rank them before they arrive. Our best estimate: about 1 in 3 games at Red Zone Games will be a mismatch — and for some teams, every game will be. This is similar to what you'd see in any youth football league.
So why does it say "seriously." under Level-Based Brackets on our homepage?
Because we mean it. Each event takes us roughly 50 hours of research — reviewing teams records, past results, and rosters — before we handpick every single game. Rosters need to be finalized 3 weeks out so we can do this right. Feel free to ask Tim, Jeff, Gary, or David at the event about our process — we’re proud of the work we’ve put into this over 15 years.
But after all that work, the closeness of any individual matchup still comes down to luck. The size or strength of your program doesn't change that. Over 15 years, winless teams from the smallest 2A towns in Texas and Oklahoma have won just as many games here as anyone else.
The mindset that sets great programs apart:
Prepare your team for the possibility of mismatches before you arrive. Red Zone Games is one day that's genuinely not about wins and losses — and when your kids embrace that, they tend to have the best time of their season.
When mismatches do happen, we manage them. See Mercy Rule and Mismatch / Dominating Players in Game Format & Rules.
3. When do dates typically fill?
Demand varies by date.
Because we limit each league to two teams per age group, some dates fill earlier than others.
If a date might work, we suggest holding your spot early.
